Tonight: “Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb” Screening

Friday, August 24, 2012 • 5pm • NYFA Screening Room • 100 E 17th Street, NYC

I play a supportive speech teacher in this darling short by Sara Block. I’m mostly one-on-one with my young “student” Rosie in some intimate scenes, so I’m excited to get the first peek before this goes out for festivals. It was so interesting watching the director work with the children in this, from the scenes where Rosie had to dig deep emotionally, to the hilarious antics with a full classroom of children.

“Dr. Pepper and Mr. Pibb” is a story about a seven-year-old girl with a speech impediment who has to present her story to her father and peers at a Second Grade Tea Party. With little support from her father, Rosie relies on her accomplished sister for encouragement, but discovers her own inner strength in the process.
